Hi, I’m Nikki Mier
Bringing calm to complexity so you never have to navigate your health coverage alone.
I am a Personal Benefits Manager (PBM) with HSA for America. If you have ever felt overwhelmed trying to sort through health coverage options, or unsure whether the plan you have is actually right for you, you are in exactly the right place. My whole career has been about helping people make sense of complicated decisions, and I would be glad to do the same with you.
The HSA for America mission lines up closely with what I already believe about how a business should operate.
I believe a business should run with integrity, clarity, and a genuine focus on the people it serves. That means being transparent, setting realistic expectations, and following through on commitments. When clients feel supported, respected, and heard, better decisions follow for everyone involved.
My approach starts with listening first, understanding your situation, and then offering clear, honest guidance without pressure.
The hospital stay that changed how I see healthcare
In 2020, what was supposed to be a routine wisdom tooth extraction turned into a serious medical emergency.
Within three days, I was hospitalized with a severe and rapidly spreading infection. Before surgery, the medical team told my husband that within another day or two, the outcome could have been much worse.
I spent multiple days in the hospital on continuous intravenous (IV) antibiotics. The care team was kind and doing their best, but it was still a hospital setting.
There were delays, shift changes, and moments where not everyone was fully familiar with my specific care needs.
With my husband Oliver and our dog Larry
That experience shifted my perspective. I realized that being a patient truly requires patience, along with the ability to advocate for yourself in a calm and constructive way. It reinforced how important it is to balance awareness and trust, to speak up when needed while also recognizing that healthcare, like many fields, is always evolving.
It was a challenging experience, but it ultimately strengthened my ability to stay grounded, communicate clearly, and navigate complex situations with both empathy and composure. Those are the same qualities I bring to every conversation I have with a client.

Education first, not a one-size-fits-all answer
What I appreciate most about working with HSA for America is the focus on education and doing what is right for the individual. There is a clear emphasis on helping people truly understand their options, rather than simply offering a one-size-fits-all solution.
What sets the organization apart is the combination of guidance, transparency, and long-term thinking. It creates an environment where the goal is not just a short-term decision, but helping individuals and families feel confident in choices that support their overall well-being and future. That lines up with how I have always tried to work with people, so it is a natural fit.
Why HSAs shift the mindset from reactive to proactive
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a savings account linked to a qualified health insurance plan. You fund it to pay for eligible healthcare costs, and in return you get real financial control and flexibility that most traditional plans do not offer. What I appreciate about HSAs is that they give you the ability to take a more active role in managing your healthcare spending. The mindset shifts from reactive to proactive, which I find incredibly valuable
What happens if you actually need care
One of the common worries I hear is, “What if I get hurt or sick?” HSA-qualified plans generally come with lower premiums than many traditional plans, and once your deductible is met, your plan takes over. In years when your health is good, the money you are not spending on high premiums stays with you in your HSA. In years when you do need more care, you still have a plan in place and a dedicated fund to draw from. The structure supports you in both kinds of years.
Real tax advantages and long-term planning
Beyond the flexibility, HSAs come with meaningful tax advantages and long-term planning opportunities. Contributions you make can reduce your taxable income, the funds can grow over time, and qualified medical withdrawals are not taxed. That combination is hard to find anywhere else in personal finance. For many of my clients, an HSA becomes one of the most efficient savings vehicles they have, especially when they think of it as a long-term tool rather than a short-term spending account.
Healthshare plans: community and shared responsibility
I also value the approach behind health sharing programs, particularly the sense of community and shared responsibility. Healthshare plans offer a different perspective on how healthcare can be approached, one that emphasizes transparency, choice, and supporting one another. Together, HSAs and healthshare options create more pathways for individuals and families to find solutions that align with both their financial goals and their personal preferences. I do not believe in pushing any single product. I believe in walking through the real options with you so the decision fits your life.
I believe healthcare decisions are deeply personal, and you should have the ability to make informed choices that align with your needs, values, and circumstances. To me, healthcare freedom is about access to clear information, understanding the available options, and feeling confident in the decisions being made. Just as importantly, people should feel supported, not overwhelmed, when navigating these choices. Having the ability to choose a path that fits both your health and your financial situation can make a meaningful difference in your overall well-being.

The people who keep me grounded
I enjoy spending time with my husband, Oliver, and our dog, Larry. I am most at home in nature, and I appreciate the balance it brings.
I also value time with friends and family, and I am naturally drawn to meaningful conversations and real connection. People often come to me for a different perspective or honest feedback, which is something I take seriously and try to approach with thoughtfulness and care.
That same care is how I show up for clients. I am attentive to the emotional side of decision-making, not just the numbers, and I work to create an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their options.
If I can help even one person feel more informed and at ease about their coverage, that is a successful day for me.
Time with loved ones
A day with close friends
Showing up when it matters most
I am proud to volunteer with Seniors First in Orlando, Florida, where I primarily support Meals on Wheels deliveries to seniors in our community.
It is meaningful to be part of something that provides not only meals, but also connection and consistency for people who might otherwise feel isolated.
I also volunteer in hospice settings, where I support individuals and families during end-of-life transitions.
Those experiences have been incredibly grounding, and they have deepened my appreciation for presence, listening, and simply being there for someone when it matters most.
That belief in presence, the idea that we are all connected and should support one another with kindness, love, and respect for our differences, is a big part of who I am and how I work.
In 2013, I also received the Good Citizen Award from the Orlando Police Department, after a robbery at my local bank where I was able to provide law enforcement with the vehicle description and license plate number.
It was unexpected, but it reinforced for me how much staying aware and taking action when appropriate actually matters.
Nature parks, long hikes, and quiet moments
When I am not working with clients, you will often find me and Oliver exploring local nature parks, rivers, and springs with Larry in tow. I love hikes, being near the water, and activities that make space for conversation and simply being present. Some of the moments that stand out most in my life have been the ones where I felt deeply connected, to people, to nature, and to the present moment. Those experiences have shaped what I value most.
Out in the trail with Oliver and Larry
“She brought calm to complexity and reminded people they were not alone.”
Good company in any weather
So whenever you are ready, I would love to hear from you. I will bring the same grounded, thoughtful approach to your health coverage that I try to bring to everything else.
