Hi, I’m Jordan Spencer

I believe every family deserves healthcare that actually supports their goals, and I’m here to make finding those solutions simple, honest, and easy to understand.

My path to HSA for America started the way a lot of the best things in life do: unexpectedly. My husband and I were once the family sitting on the other side of this conversation, trying to figure out how to make healthcare work for us. The experience changed our lives, and now I get to help other families find the same relief.

My goal, every single time, is to give each family I work with a specialized, value-focused experience rooted in a genuine desire to serve.

That is not corporate language. That is how I was raised to treat people, and it is the only way I know how to do this job. HSA for America’s mission lines up with my own values so closely that it does not feel like work most days. It feels like showing up for my neighbors.

How my own family’s struggle led me here

My journey with HSA for America actually began as a client.

When my husband started his own business, we ran straight into the wall that so many self-employed families run into: we could not find affordable healthcare that did not feel completely out of reach.

Every option on the table either cost more than our mortgage or came with a deductible that made the whole thing feel pointless.

Then we discovered health sharing and Health Savings Account (HSA) solutions, and everything shifted. The financial freedom and peace of mind we found was a total game-changer for our family.

We stopped dreading the mailbox. We started sleeping at night.

The experience was so impactful that I knew I wanted to join the team and help other families find that same relief.

An organization that actually lives its mission

I came to HSA for America as a client before I ever came on as a Personal Benefits Manager (PBM), so I have seen this team from both sides of the desk. What I found from the inside is the same thing I felt as a client: a company that leads with honesty, treats families like humans instead of policy numbers, and genuinely believes there is a better way to handle healthcare in this country.

That is why I love working here. The HSA for America mission is not a wall poster. It is the actual way every person on this team approaches each conversation, and it is exactly the kind of company I want my name attached to.

Why I talk about HSAs and health sharing every chance I get

I am a huge advocate for both Health Savings Accounts and health sharing programs because they are such innovative, honest solutions to the affordability crisis so many of us face. I do not say that as a sales pitch. I say it because I have lived it.

An HSA is a tax-advantaged account you pair with a qualifying health plan. You put money in, it grows tax-free, and you use it to pay for qualified medical expenses. That is the short version. The longer version is the part I love: an HSA puts you back in charge of your own healthcare dollars instead of handing that control to someone else.

What happens when someone in your family actually gets sick

This is the question every family really wants answered, and it is a fair one. With the right HSA-qualified plan, you typically pay lower premiums month to month, and your HSA funds are there to cover the deductible and out-of-pocket costs when you need them. Over the long run, an HSA can save you money in the years you are healthy, and it is there for you in the years you need more care. It is built for real life, not just the brochure version of it.

The tax side of HSAs is almost unfair in how good it is

The tax advantages of an HSA are genuinely one of my favorite things to explain to people, because most families have no idea what they are missing. Contributions go in pre-tax. The money grows tax-free. When you use it for qualified medical expenses, you pay no tax on the way out. There is no other account in the tax code that does all three. Once families see that, they usually ask me why nobody ever told them about this before.

Why I am a fan of health sharing plans

Health sharing was a game-changer for my own family, so I have a soft spot for it, and I am honest with clients about why. For many families, especially self-employed ones like mine was, health sharing is the difference between having coverage for medical expenses and having none at all. It is affordable, it is community-based, and for the right family it is an excellent fit. I walk every client through whether it makes sense for their specific situation before recommending it, because it is not right for everyone. But when it is right, it really is right.

What being a client first taught me

Before I ever worked in this field, I was the one making the phone calls, comparing the plans, and trying to figure out what the fine print actually meant. I know what it feels like to sit at the kitchen table staring at numbers that do not add up. That experience is the reason I slow down with every family I work with now. Nobody should have to figure this out alone, and nobody should feel rushed through a decision that affects their whole household.

Wife, mom of three, and the reason this job means so much to me

Outside of work, I am a devoted wife and a mom to three beautiful kids. I take care of my own family’s coverage the same way I take care of my clients’ coverage, because the stakes feel the same to me.

When I sit down with a new family, I am thinking about what I would want someone to do for my own husband and kids. That lens keeps me honest, and it keeps me patient.

Every day, I get to help people navigate the confusing world of health benefits.

That is not a small thing. Helping a family finally understand their coverage, or finally feel like they are not being taken advantage of, is the part of this job that keeps me going.

I’m proud to be a part of helping make access to healthcare more affordable for so many individuals, families, and small businesses.

The five of Us

An intentional, virtuous life grounded in faith

As a family, we try to live an intentional, virtuous life grounded in our faith.

That one sentence shapes almost everything about how we parent, how we spend our time, and how I show up for the people I work with.

Integrity is not a word I toss around.

It is the thing I try to hand down to my kids every single day, and it is the standard I hold myself to in every client conversation.

Swimming, hiking, and a long-standing dream of going back to New Zealand

We are big fans of the outdoors as a family. You will usually find us swimming, hiking, or exploring new trails with our dog. Getting the kids out in nature is one of our favorite things, and it is the kind of thing I hope they remember when they are grown.

Before we had children, my husband and I traveled to New Zealand, and taking our kids back there one day to explore it all together is a big dream of ours. I am a true enthusiast for the “good things.” I love the energy of live music, traveling to new places, and cooking up healthy, delicious meals, though I will never turn down a night out at a great restaurant either.

Before stepping into my role as a PBM, I spent years working as a women’s holistic health coach and a birth and postpartum doula. I have shifted my professional focus to the financial side of healthcare, but I still carry a deep passion for supporting women through those transformative stages of life. It just looks a little different now. More informal, more personal, and woven into the relationships I build along the way.

Whether I am at the dinner table, hanging out with friends and family, or meeting new people in the community, I truly believe life is all about building meaningful connections and helping people achieve their goals with integrity and a positive attitude. If any of that resonates with you, I would love to hear from you.
