I’m Leslie Alford, and I’ve been a licensed health insurance professional for 18 years.

If I had to describe myself as a Personal Benefits Manager, I’d say I’m consultative, not pushy or salesy. I listen first, then make recommendations based on the client’s needs that will be best for them over the long term.

I believe that integrity is the most important foundation of success, and I try to live by that.

On rare occasions, the best plan for a client is one that I do not offer or get paid on. But I always put the client’s best interest ahead of my own personal gain.

Doing the right thing by the client is always the best thing, and it’s served both me and my clients well over the years.

Yes, I’ve received many awards from my company, which makes this a very enjoyable place to work. But more than that, it’s the hundreds of commendations over the years from my clients that make me feel like I am really doing a great service.

Why I chose HSA for America

I chose to work at HSA for America (and our sister companies, Medigap Advisors and ColoHealth) because of our unique focus on some of the best and most innovative healthcare ideas and solutions in the market.

I’m a huge fan of health savings accounts (HSAs) because they’re a great way for individuals to save money, potentially reduce their taxes, and have money to pay for any potential medical expenses that may crop up.

More About Me

I grew up in Indiana in a big midwestern family. My first career out of college was as a flight attendant and it took me to Southern CA where I resided for 28 years and eventually got married. Sadly, after losing my husband, I moved back to the midwest to be near family. However, after five years of Michigan winters, I was ready for some warm weather again, and made a new start in beautiful Naples, Florida.

I didn’t know a soul when I got here. But there are so many beautiful and amazing people here and they readily welcomed me into the community.

In my free time, I love running on the beach, swimming, playing beach volleyball and pickleball (pickleball is not an old person’s sport), stand-up paddleboarding, and playing with my two miniature bernadoodles!

History is a longtime passion of mine. Love to travel for the art and architecture. I listen regularly to all types of history podcasts. Right now, I’m really into archaeology documentaries, as well as global news.

Fun fact: I used to sing, act, and model. I just dabbled in each and did not make much money. But it was a lot of fun!

I have a new boyfriend, Scott. We can both work remotely, so we travel a lot. We both enjoy Vail, Colorado, in both winter and summer. And we love the cuisine!
